Honoring Quran Memorizers.. Royal Support and Emiri Patronage.
Under the patronage of the Custodian of the Two Holy Mosques, King Salman bin Abdulaziz Al Saud, and on his behalf, Prince Faisal bin Bandar bin Abdulaziz, Emir of the Riyadh Region, honored the winners of the local competition for the King Salman bin Abdulaziz Award for Quran Memorization, Recitation, and Interpretation (for males) in its 27th session last night.
His Highness received the Minister of Islamic Affairs, Call and Guidance, Sheikh Abdullatif bin Abdulaziz Al Al-Sheikh, and the Minister of Education, Yousef bin Abdullah Al-Bunyan, upon his arrival at the ceremony venue.
In a speech, Prince Faisal bin Bandar expressed his pride and appreciation for the award bearing the name of King Salman, emphasizing its importance in preserving and promoting the Book of God. He congratulated the winners and wished them success in serving the Quran and the nation.
The ceremony began with a recitation of verses from the Holy Quran, followed by a speech from the Minister of Islamic Affairs, Call and Guidance, in which he thanked the Custodian of the Two Holy Mosques and his Crown Prince for their continued support of the Book of God and its people. He valued the presence of the Emir of Riyadh at the ceremony and his support for everything that serves the Holy Quran.
The Minister affirmed that the competition is a national project aimed at establishing the values of the Holy Quran in the hearts of young people, expressing his appreciation for the great care given by the wise leadership to the Book of God and its keenness to raise a generation proud of its religion and adhering to the values of moderation.
He pointed out that the current session witnessed widespread participation exceeding 3,600 contestants, with 129 qualifying for the final rounds, and the total value of the prizes reaching seven million riyals.
Following that, Prince Faisal bin Bandar listened to recitations from the contestants and watched a visual presentation showcasing the award’s journey and statistics from the current session.
The ceremony concluded with the honoring of the members of the judging committee and the winners in the six branches of the competition, presenting them with awards and a shield of excellence. The event was attended by a number of princes, officials, heads of Quran memorization associations, and parents of the contestants.
