King Salman Food Basket: A global initiative to combat hunger.
The King Salman Humanitarian Aid & Relief Center (KSrelief) has launched the “Food Basket” initiative, encompassing several countries as part of the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia’s efforts to strengthen food security in areas of need.
In the Republic of Guinea-Conakry, the distribution of 8,400 food baskets began with the attendance of Saudi Ambassador Dr. Fahad Al-Rashidi and official Dr. Souleymane Sidi Bah. The initiative is expected to benefit 50,000 people in the cities of Conakry, Dabola, Mamou, Kankan, and N’Zérékoré, continuing until 2026.
Concurrently, the capital of Djibouti witnessed the launch of the “Food Basket 5” project for 2026, attended by Ambassador Mutlaq Al-Ajlan and Minister of Social Affairs and Solidarity, Aoufa Ismail Abdou. The project aims to provide 6,715 essential food baskets to 40,000 beneficiaries in various regions of the country.
In Mauritania, the “Food Basket 5” project was launched in Nouakchott, with the attendance of Ambassador Dr. Abdulaziz Al-Raqabi and Food Security Commissioner Mam Abdou. The project, running until 2026, will benefit approximately 42,000 people through the distribution of 8,402 food baskets across several districts.
The “Food Basket 5” initiative has also extended to the Kingdom of Cambodia, where it was inaugurated by Chargé d'Affaires Abdullah Al-Houshan and Minister Dr. Osman Hassan in Phnom Penh. Over 53,000 individuals in nine Cambodian regions will benefit from 8,850 food baskets, designed to meet the nutritional needs of the most vulnerable families.
