Ramadan: 2731 signboards in 8 languages to guide pilgrims and Umrah performers.

The General Presidency for the Affairs of the Grand Mosque and the Prophet's Mosque has prepared to receive millions of Umrah pilgrims and visitors during the blessed month of Ramadan 1447 AH, by launching a comprehensive and updated guidance system. This system aims to guide guests of God, facilitate their movement, and enrich their spiritual experience to ensure they perform their rituals with ease and convenience.

The new system includes distinguished guidance initiatives to develop the spatial experience, including the launch of “walking teams” to provide direct on-site guidance, and the publication of a comprehensive guide translated into eight global languages. These measures will contribute to the smooth flow of visitors and pilgrims within the Grand Mosque and the Prophet’s Mosque and their respective plazas.

The walking teams will focus on providing accurate and direct guidance to visitors of the Two Holy Mosques, with particular attention paid to the elderly and people with disabilities, directing them towards safe routes, designated facilities, and available services.

The Presidency has also issued a guidance manual based on a global color-coding system, in addition to paper and interactive smart maps supported by QR code technology, to clarify all areas of the Two Holy Mosques, locations of services, and access routes.

In the context of infrastructure development, the Presidency is installing 60 modern guidance panels, including 40 in the Grand Mosque and 20 in the Prophet’s Mosque, in addition to 350 new guidance panels, bringing the total number of guidance panels to 2731 distributed throughout the Two Holy Mosques and their plazas.

These efforts come within the framework of the Presidency’s continuous endeavor to develop the spatial guidance system and raise the level of services provided to guests of God, providing a comfortable, safe, and facilitated experience in accordance with the highest global standards of care and attention.
