Strong winds and sandstorms trigger alert in China.
Chinese authorities have issued a fourth-level alert to brace for severe weather conditions, including strong winds and sandstorms, across large swathes of northern China. The National Meteorological Center reported that several regions are expected to experience these conditions through Sunday, prompting the activation of a Level IV emergency response plan for meteorological disasters.
The warnings coincide with the Center issuing yellow alerts for strong winds and sandstorms, as well as a blue alert for an anticipated cold wave. Areas affected by the strong winds include Xinjiang, Inner Mongolia, Gansu, Ningxia, Qinghai, and Shaanxi, extending to encompass northern and northeastern China and including the Shandong Peninsula.
