Makkah and Madinah prepare to receive guests of God (pilgrims) in Ramadan.
Operational and service efforts are being fully integrated at the Grand Mosque and the Prophet’s Mosque to provide a comprehensive service system capable of accommodating millions of worshippers and pilgrims, and to ensure they have a comfortable and organized spiritual experience during the month of Ramadan.
The General Presidency for the Affairs of the Grand Mosque and the Prophet’s Mosque has announced the provision of over 47,000 containers of Zamzam water throughout the two holy mosques, in addition to laying out 60,000 prayer rugs, and the maintenance and operation of 258,560 lighting units to enhance visibility in prayer areas and passageways.
Preparations also include the maintenance of 11,956 restrooms, the installation of 14,558 speakers to ensure clear audio, and the deployment of 19,230 administrative, technical, and field personnel to serve visitors around the clock.
Furthermore, 451 prayer areas have been prepared within the two holy mosques, along with the provision of 980 escalators and 114 elevators to facilitate the movement of pilgrims and worshippers. In addition, 370 air conditioning units are operating to regulate the temperature.
Regarding transportation and assistance services, 10,000 manual wheelchairs, 403 electric carts, and 12 carts specifically for assisting with the completion of religious rites have been provided to facilitate the performance of rituals for the elderly and people with special needs. Additionally, the Presidency has allocated 3 childcare centers, 5 baggage claim points, and 4 baggage storage facilities.
The Presidency affirmed that these extensive preparations, which reflect close coordination between various concerned parties, embody the great care given by the rational leadership to the Two Holy Mosques and those who visit them, with the aim of facilitating the performance of worship in a distinguished and organized service environment during the month of Ramadan.
